about bathrooms

We have chosen to build our bathroom series around the 37 cm deep wall cabinet frames in Ikea's kitchen range Metod. Metod offers many different formats to work from, which means we can offer more sizes of vanities based on Metod, than with Ikea's bathroom range Godmorgon. Another reason is that Ikea's Godmorgon range cannot be purchased without a front. For those of our customers who plan to invest in completely new bathroom furniture, this would imply an indirect request to discard a new front, and that's just not sustainable.

Our fronts are adapted to suit Ikea's Metod base cabinets. Although our front dimensions may seem compatible with other cabinets than Ikea's, we cannot guarantee that they will fit.

Our vanities are available in 40, 60, 80 and 120 cm widths and all have a depth of 40 cm. The frame of a vanity unit can either be 40 or 60 cm high, depending on if you want 17 or 37 cm high legs, or how much storage space you need.

The total height including the stone top is always 79 cm. The height including our sinks placed on top is 91 cm, if you measure up to the top edge of the sink.

At Superfront, you purchase door fronts and/or drawer fronts, sides, top, sink, mixer tap, handles and legs.

At Ikea, you purchase your Metod cabinet frame and drawers if you want a vanity unit with drawers. If you want door fronts on your vanity unit, you buy hinges, dampeners and shelves. Of course, you can choose to have both door fronts and drawers on your vanity unit. We recommend all our bathroom customers to buy the suspension rail for the Metod wall cabinet frame at Ikea. This provides a safer and better installation of the bathroom vanity unit.

Since each bathroom is unique, you might need to supplement with pipe connections. This is provided by your licensed plumber who you need to hire in order for the warranty on your bathroom vanity to apply. For your knowledge, we always supply a connector for the mixer tap that you buy from us. A water trap and a strainer are also included when you purchase any of our sinks. If you choose to purchase a sink or mixer tap from another supplier, it is important that you ensure that all the spare parts fit.

Since our bathroom range is based on the Metod wall cabinet frame from Ikea, adaptations for the wash basin and the tap need to be made. But don't you worry - installation and drilling descriptions are included with the wash basin. Please note! For the warranty on your bathroom vanity to apply, it is important that you follow our mounting instructions.

Currently, Ikea recommends Metod cabinets for kitchens and laundry rooms. However, we can tell you that Metod cabinets are made of exactly the same kind of material as the majority of bathroom cabinets on the market, which makes them suitable also for bathrooms.

Yet, all bathroom vanities should be placed at a sufficient distance from both showers and bathtubs to prevent water from splashing onto the furniture. If this happens, wipe dry immediately with a clean, dry cloth. If you follow our simple care instructions for your vanity as well as the directives we set for installation, your vanity will have exactly the same standard as the majority of the bathroom vanities on the market.

Our bathroom vanities hold current bathroom standards. Our sides for bathroom vanities are made of a more humidity resistant MDF than our other sides, this to make our vanities more durable than most bathroom vanities on the market. However, no bathroom furniture should be exposed to direct contact with water. Immediately wipe off any water on your bathroom furniture with a dry cloth. Also be sure to always place your shower or bathtub so that splashes from these cannot end up on the bathroom furniture. This is to avoid moisture penetration, for example, in any joints. It is also very important that you have a proper ventilation fan that regulates the humidity in your bathroom so it is kept at an acceptable level. Excessive humidity can also expose your bathroom furniture to stresses that do not fall within our recommendations.

The distance between the wall and the drawer - if you have chosen a drawer in your bathroom vanity - is 55 mm.

You can choose any round wash basin as long as the diameter does not exceed 38 cm and it works with the pre-drilled hole for the water trap of 45 mm.

In terms of square wash basins, the necessary measurement is 38 cm on the diagonal. However, we would not recommend it because this very small wash basin increases the risk of water splashing outside. Instead, we recommend that you go to a local stone supplier and custom-order a stone top with the holes required for a bigger, square wash basin.

All stone tops for bathroom vanities have pre-drilled holes for a sink and mixer tap. On the 120 cm wide bathroom top, these are centered on the right half of the stone. If you want two sinks on this vanity, you must drill your own holes for a sink and a mixer tap on the left side of the stone top, alternatively custom-order a stone top with two holes elsewhere. This is, unfortunately, not something we are able to offer.

Yes, all bathroom vanities must be attached to a wall using the brackets supplied with the Metod cabinet frame from Ikea. We also recommend that you supplement with Ikea's suspension rail for Metod as it makes a successful installation easier. Attaching the furniture to the wall will also be easier this way as the track gives you more possible attachment points than if you just use the brackets.

For the warranty on your bathroom vanity to apply, we recommend that you take the help of an authorized service provider that performs a so-called "Safe Water Installation".

Sides and tops are attached using our Mountpads, which is a kind of double-sided tape. Attach the Mountpads to a number of different points on the outside of your Ikea cabinet frame. When the side from Superfront is pressed against the frame, the glue in the Mountpads will harden and become extremely strong.

If a mounting instruction was missing in your delivery, do not worry! All our mounting instructions for bathroom furniture are also available for download here.

We call the colour Naked because the fiberboard is allowed to appear just as it is. All we do is paint it with a durable, matte, clear-coat. Our sides for bathrooms are made of an extra moisture-proof fiberboard that is very resistant to moisture. Since it has a greenish colour, it does not match our other Naked products, which are brown. Therefore, we have chosen to completely exclude Naked from our bathroom range.
