GLASSWORKS
GLASSWORKS by Superfront is a limited-edition collection of handles made from reclaimed, hand-cast architectural glass. Variations in colour, texture and subtle traces from the glass’s previous use give each object a sense of reflection and history, reshaped into a contemporary expression. Since its founding in Stockholm in 2013, Superfront has worked to combine Scandinavian design quality with a circular approach, creating design that can be applied to Ikea’s most common cabinet frames. The launch of GLASSWORKS is therefore a natural step in the company’s vision of encouraging more thoughtful and long-term interior choices.
About the collection
The reclaimed glass used in GLASSWORKS originates from Lindshammars Glasbruk, one of Sweden’s most renowned glassworks. During the last century, this architectural glass was used in buildings shaped by post-war modernist architecture, in the form of thick, hand-cast glass blocks. Each block has since been reworked into unique handles produced in a limited edition. By reusing existing material, the glass is given a new purpose and a new life – objects designed to endure over time, both in expression and quality.
GLASSWORKS is available in several geometric forms and an earthy colour palette ranging from light yellow to deep orange and a more muted green tone. Depending on shape and colour, the glass captures and filters light into the room and across the furniture it adorns. Used together or individually, the handles add a subtle, artistic character to both furniture and space. They can be used to elevate existing furniture or to give new projects a distinct identity.
About Lindshammars Glasbruk
Lindshammars Glasbruk has been part of Sweden’s glass heritage since 1905. During the mid-20th century, the glassworks became known for its expressive use of colour and its hand-cast architectural glass, a material featured in several notable buildings. Among the most iconic are Uppenbarelsekyrkan, often referred to as the Nordic region’s first glass cathedral, and the glass prisms of the sculpture Kristallvertikalaccent at Sergels torg in Stockholm. Today, this heritage lives on through fragments of glass that can still be recovered and are now given new life in these handles.
“With GLASSWORKS, Superfront launches a series of handles and knobs made from reclaimed artisanal glass. Each piece consists of glass that previously had an entirely different life, now refined and reshaped into a functional design object.”
– Erik Wettervik, Head of Design, Superfront
“GLASSWORKS is Superfront’s way of celebrating Swedish craftsmanship and giving these remarkable architectural glasses a new place and a new meaning. By developing these handles, we hope to show that older interiors deserve care and have an obvious place in today’s modern homes.”
– Maria Tschertou Schäder, CEO, Superfront

Last year, Superfront launched its award-winning kitchen design Bruta – the result of a unique collaboration with the acclaimed design duo Raw Edges. Now, this partnership is extended with a series of sculptural handles that reflect Bruta's characteristic brutalist design language.
Superfront's CEO, Maria Tschertou Schäder, shares insights about the new additions:
– Raw Edges has developed the cast aluminium handle designed for the tall cabinets of the Bruta kitchen. This time, they have created two handles and a knob with the same tactile expression – where the designer's own fingerprints create a texture that reveals the creative process.
The new Bruta handles – Bruta Knob, Bruta 16, and Bruta 28 – are designed to complement Superfront's entire range for kitchens, wardrobes, and sideboards.
Maria Tschertou Schäder continues:
– The first Bruta handle makes a bolder statement, so you might have one or two on a fridge or freezer. The new handles are more delicate, allowing you to use them throughout an entire kitchen or on a dresser to give your home a unique character.

Superfront expands the lighter spectrum of its Scandinavian colour palette with two new shades of white. The launch includes Mineral White, a completely new addition, and Concrete, which was previously available exclusively for the Bruta collection but is now offered across Superfront's entire design range.
Maria Tschertou Schäder, CEO of Superfront, explains the thought behind the launch:
– We are a Swedish design company, and here in the north, where half the year is dark and cold, we regard light as almost sacred. This makes white in all its variations a natural and important part of our Scandinavian design tradition.
Both Mineral White and Concrete can be classified as off-white colours, which means that a small amount of pigment has been added to give the colour a unique tone. These shades have been developed with the Scandinavian palette in mind, where wood also plays an important role.
Maria describes the shades in more detail:
– Mineral White is a light white shade with a slightly green undertone, which works perfectly with other green shades and light wood elements. The more subdued Concrete, on the other hand, has a faint red undertone that pairs incredibly well with warmer wood types.
Mineral White and Concrete will be available for doors compatible with Ikea’s frames Metod, Faktum, Bestå, and Pax, as well as for wall shelves, furniture legs, and handles.

Swedish design company Superfront proudly announces its receipt of the prestigious 'BEST OF DESIGN' award from Schöner Wohnen for the second consecutive year. This year's dual recognitions were achieved through the introduction of the Raw Edges-designed Bruta kitchen and an exquisite Japandi-inspired sideboard design.
Maria Tschertou Schäder, CEO of Superfront, conveys the company's pride in receiving these prestigious awards:
– We are honoured to receive this recognition for our design. Schöner Wohnen's mission to bring excellent design closer to their readers aligns perfectly with our core values. Our entire business concept grew from the vision to make great design accessible to more people.
While Superfront is known for its refined Ikea hack concept, last year's award celebrated the 'Takumi Shelf' – their inaugural design not based on an Ikea product. This year, the focus returns to Superfront's expertise in enhancing flat-pack cabinets.
Maria continues:
– It was amazing to see our Takumi Shelf among last year's winners – but winning an award for our Ikea-customised design proves that we have succeeded in our vision of offering great design – which happens to be built around a highly affordable and accessible base.

The Twine series is expanding with a metal-wrapped knob in the same timeless, minimalist design.
Superfront is introducing a new knob designed to complement the handles and legs in their Twine series. Like the other members of the design family, Mini Twine has a simple, stripped-down design with a timeless feature: a finely wrapped metal wire.
Maria Tschertou Schäder, CEO of Superfront, explains the design inspiration:
– The entire Twine series is inspired by Bauhaus and 1930s functionalism, which is reflected in the clean and minimalist design language. Our unique 'twist' is the finely wrapped metal wire, which adds a sense of elegance and craftsmanship.
The new addition, Mini Twine, can be used to complement the existing Twine handles and legs, thereby providing kitchens or furniture with a thoughtful and harmonious look. The smaller knob offers a more subtle detail compared to the longer handles.
Maria continues:
– Sometimes it's the smallest details that make the biggest difference. For those who want Twine handles in the kitchen but prefer a more discreet knob for the upper cabinets, Mini Twine can really be the perfect finishing touch.

Superfront introduces Honey Wood – a new, warm wood tone created to complement their existing wood collection. In 2013, the Swedish design company launched its very first collection of doors for Ikea's frames, with the aim of enabling more people to furnish their homes with excellent design. Since then, they have opened up even more design possibilities, including complementing their lacquered range with a collection in wood. Now, they present the latest addition to the collection – Honey Wood.
Maria Tschertou Schäder, CEO of Superfront, shares her thoughts on the new wood tone:
— Wood plays an inherent role in the Scandinavian design tradition – and this extends beyond the lightest wood types, though that is likely the first image that comes to mind. Many of our iconic Scandinavian design pieces were, in fact, crafted from warmer wood types like oak, beech, and teak. Honey Wood is a small nod to them, one could say.
With inspiration drawn from design history, Superfront's design team aimed to create a timeless shade that could take a central place in the colour palette of the wood collection, ranging from light to dark tones. Honey Wood features a warm undertone reminiscent of teak, but the doors are made of ash – a wood species commonly found in Europe, which was one of the reasons Superfront chose it.
Maria continues to explain why they have chosen to work specifically with ash wood:
— Ash wood has an incredibly beautiful grain pattern that gives character to the doors – and each shade accentuates it in its own way. It's also naturally relatively resistant to UV light, which means it ages more gracefully than many other wood types.
Honey Wood will be available for doors fitting Ikea frames Metod, Faktum, Bestå, and Pax, as well as for wall shelves, furniture legs, and handles.

On 1 September, Superfront, the Swedish design company celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, will open their very first showroom outside Scandinavia, located in the heart of Paris. On the same date, their Ikea-customised design range will also be made available in three new colours.
By establishing a physical presence in Paris, Superfront give their French customers the opportunity to experience their groundbreaking products up close. The showroom will be an inspiring place where visitors can explore Superfront's extensive design range.
Maria Tschertou Schäder, CEO of Superfront, emphasises the importance of offering the French market a real experience:
– Opening our first showroom outside Scandinavia in Paris, a city known for its rich design history, is an important milestone for us. France is one of our main markets, which is fantastic bearing in mind that we sell kitchens online, where many customers have only seen our products on a screen. Therefore, it is extremely valuable for us to be able to offer our French customers the opportunity to also see and feel our designs in real life. It adds another dimension to the experience and allows them to appreciate the quality up close.
To celebrate the opening, Superfront is also introducing three new colours that provide even more opportunities to create personalised homes. Two brand new colours, Muddy Blue and Almost White, are carefully selected to complement Superfront's existing colour palette. In addition, a third colour becomes available for the entire Superfront range, Clay, which was previously offered exclusively for the Bruta collection that was created in a design collaboration with Raw Edges.
Although the new colours belong to different parts of the colour spectrum, they have one thing in common: they all have a warm undertone – and that's no coincidence. Maria explains:
–Our design team has carefully selected these particular shades, not only for their beauty, but also because they create a warm and inviting atmosphere that many people strive to achieve in their homes. However, it wasn't until the new colours were decided and presented internally that we realised that they actually form a 'tricolour' in a slightly muted, Scandinavian style – which is perfect for our opening in Paris!
The new colours are launched on 1 September and will be available for Superfront's Ikea-customised design solutions for kitchens, wardrobes, sideboards, bathrooms and storage, as well as for their wall shelves, handles and legs.

A collection of shelves and metal brackets that combine freely for total harmony!
For 10 years, the Swedish design company has specialised in offering high-quality Ikea hacks. Now they are expanding the range with a new shelving concept that matches their kitchen and furniture designs. The concept consists of single shelves and brackets in existing colours and materials that can be freely combined to fully harmonise with a kitchen or furniture with Superfront's design.
– Our kitchen designers have a close dialogue with each customer and work together with them to create a functional and stylish kitchen design that meets their wishes. A common request is open shelves – and many want a calm and coherent feeling where materials and colours are connected and create a common thread in the room, says Maria Tschertou Schäder, CEO at Superfront.
At the beginning of the year, Superfront launched the Takumi Shelf – their very first storage furniture that is not built around an Ikea product. This allowed the customers to get a wall shelf that matches the colour of their cabinet doors. Now, with the new metal brackets, Superfront take it one step further so that those who have chosen a metal handle are able to get a shelf where the expression of the handle is also reflected.
Maria continues:
– To fulfil our customers' desire for perfectly matching wall shelves, our design team drew inspiration from some of our most popular handles to create two metal brackets that embody the same design language. The Wire bracket is designed to complement the Wire handle, while the Circus bracket has a clear kinship with all handles in the Circus family. But both brackets can also be effortlessly paired with our other handles in the same metal!
As usual, Superfront work with genuine materials that age beautifully. The shelf brackets are handmade and available in solid brass and copper, chrome as well as lacquered in black or white. Both the brass and copper are untreated, which means they will develop a luxurious patina over time. The shelves come in two lengths and are available in all Superfront colours and wood veneers.
The metal brackets will be in stock and shipped within 1-2 working days. The same goes for the shelves in the colours Umber Wood, Biscotti Wood, Alabaster Wood and Obsidian Wood. Shelves in all other colours are made to order.

This year is the 10th anniversary of the Swedish design company Superfront. To mark the occasion, they are launching Bruta, a new kitchen design in collaboration with celebrated design studio Raw Edges. The collection, Superfront’s first full collaboration with an external designer, includes three different modules with distinct characters – base cabinets, wall cabinets and high cupboards. Each piece is available independently or as part of a whole forming a coherent design.
The base cabinet doors have a matt lacquered surface and are available in either off-white or off-black, all of which are equipped with sculptural handles which reinforce the brutalist-inspired aesthetic.
The wall cabinet doors have a slight shift in texture to those of the lower cabinets and are available in seven colours, ranging from lighter shades of greige and dusty green to richer tones in terracotta, brown and moss green. To create a minimal handle grip for the wall cabinets, the doors are slightly longer than the cabinet frame.
The cupboard doors are available in off-white, off-black, oak veneer and black oak veneer and used with either the vertical, integrated grip or the accompanying artisan cast aluminium handles in matte black, which have a tactile handmade quality.
Raw Edges were thrilled at the opportunity to design for Superfront and the popular Ikea Metod kitchen cabinets as it enables customers to create something unique and design savvy at a reasonable cost and even sustainably upcycle existing cabinets they have in their homes.
Raw Edges design studio in London was founded by Shay Alkalay and Yael Mer. Their work has received several highly respected awards including A&W 2020 Designers of the Year, Design Miami/Basel Designers of the Future, Wallpaper Design Award, Elle-Deco EDIDA Award. Their work has also been acquired by international museums including MoMA in New York and the Vitra Design Museum and the studio has collaborated with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Vitra, Stella McCartney and Kvadrat.
Shay and Yael comment on the collaboration of the kitchen design saying:
– The Kitchen is probably one of the most functional areas in our home, it requires a high level of practicality and efficiency. Our challenge as designers was to find a way to incorporate joy into that functionality. As inspiration, we looked at how during the brutalist era, it was common to add concrete bas-relief sculptural murals to decorate the highly minimalistic architecture. Similarly, for Bruta, we designed curved line handles that create an impression of a relief in beautiful patterns, adding a sculptural flavour to the kitchen.
Superfront co-founder Monica Born explains the company’s thoughts behind this collaboration
saying:
– Raw Edges leads the way in experimentation with processes and materials to create a design that is unique and timeless. For us, this curiosity and desire to create something new is what made us want to collaborate with another design studio for the first time.

Swedish Superfront is known for its qualitative and timeless design adapted for Ikea's most popular cabinet frames. Now the company is launching its first stand-alone storage furniture in the form of a Japan-inspired wall shelf accompanied by a matching furniture leg, both under the name Takumi. Co-funder Mick Born describes Superfront's thoughts:
– We saw the need to complement our range of products for Ikea's closed storage with an open shelf structure. With open storage, you can showcase the finest items you have at home and add atmosphere to your room, but you can also allow items you use on a daily basis to sit on the shelf for easy access.
In Japan, the word Takumi refers to an experienced craftsman who is highly skilled in his art. And it is this artisanal, austere design tradition that Superfront has drawn inspiration from. Superfront's other co-founder Monica Born adds:
– The Japanese design tradition really lives by the concept of "less is more", and this is usually a keyword for design that lasts over time. For us, the ambition was to create an open storage and a furniture leg with this concept in mind.
Superfront predicts that the new collection, which will be available in all of their lacquered colours and wood veneers, will be a welcome addition to their Ikea-adapted range as it opens up even more possibilities for creating a well-designed and cohesive home interior. For example, those who prefer kitchens with open shelving will be able to have a completely unified kitchen where both shelves and brackets harmonise with the doors. And those who already have a Superfront sideboard at home can easily add wall shelves and legs in the same colour for a Japan-inspired update!

We are pleased to see that the interest in circular design and sustainable consumption is growing. Today, many people choose to recycle their existing kitchen cabinets and only replace the doors the day they become worn – a really smart move for both the environment and your wallet!
And ever since we launched our Wood Collection, we've realised that our love of wood – and the timeless, warm feeling it brings to a home – is shared by so many. That's why we're proud to announce that our Wood Collection is now also available for Ikea's older Faktum kitchen frame! In other words, it's now possible for those of you with an old Faktum kitchen at home to upgrade it to an elegant wooden kitchen that feels on point both now and for years to come!

Superfront has expanded their popular Wood Collection with a new black wood shade - Obsidian Wood!
– There's just something about the combination of black and wood. You get the sleekness and elegance of the black colour – while the grain and tactile feel of the wood adds both warmth and a softness that makes it not feel stiff, says Mick Born.
All the doors in the Wood Collection are made of ash veneer that is stained to achieve the desired colours. When first launched, the Wood palette consisted of three natural wood tones and three colours taken from Superfront's lacquered colour palette. But now the collection has been completed with yet another option, stained in pure black.
Monica Born continues:
– Obsidian Wood brings out the beautiful grain and lustre naturally found in ash wood – but in an elegant, black suit. The result is a bit reminiscent of burnt wood, a material found in architecture as Japan-inspired house exteriors – but I also get more poetic associations such as the rippling pattern on the surface of the sea on an almost pitch-black night.
The new black colour is available on both plain and fluted wooden doors, cover panels, top panels, plinths and the wooden handle Bar. The products are suited for the Ikea frames Bestå, Pax and Metod.

Superfront's products are usually made to order and this is also the reason why these are normally shipped within 3-5 weeks. But now Superfront launches a faster alternative in the form of the curated Express Collection. The collection consists of 6 timeless sideboard favourites, ready to be shipped within as little as 1-2 business days. All the combinations in the Express Collection include doors, side panels and a top panel made to fit Ikea's Bestå frame. To be able to add a personal touch to each sideboard in the collection, the customer adds the desired legs and handles to their order and these details are therefore not included in the price.
The Ikea frame is purchased at Ikea as usual, but if you already have a Bestå frame at home, you can of course use that. The more we can reuse – the better! Express Collection will be available at superfront.com from March 2022 and the price of the products will be the same as usual.

Inspired by abstract art, Superfront is launching a new collection of sideboard doors, aptly named the Abstract Collection.
– We both really like this kind of soft, organic shapes – so we wanted to develop a sideboard collection with a design of this nature. Bringing organic elements into a home adds a warm and artistic atmosphere that we really like, says Monica Born.
Mick Born adds:
– We were inspired by artists such as Jean Arp, Alexander Calder and Barbara Hepworth whose work often consists of one or several organic shapes that bring associations to nature. I think the connection to nature is why organic design elements often feel so timeless – it simply alludes to something that has been around since time immemorial and therefore feels stylistically natural.
The Abstract Collection is adapted for the 64 cm high Ikea Bestå frames and will be available at Superfront.com from January 2022.

Superfront's vision is to give more people the opportunity to surround themselves with excellent and personal design, without unnecessary impact on either their wallet or the environment.
With Ikea's cabinet frames as the base and a carefully composed palette of colours, patterns, handles and legs, the company already offers countless design options. And the opportunities just increased considerably!
As of today, you can choose freely from the NCS chart’s 1950 colour codes when you order from Superfront's lacquered range of doors, end panels, tops and plinths. In other words, it is now possible to create unique kitchens, and wardrobes – in any colour! Custom NCS colour on Superfront's lacquered range for the Ikea cabinet frames Bestå, Pax, Metod and Faktum. NCS (Natural Color System) is a global colour system that includes as many as 1950 colours.

Ever since the start in 2013, Superfront's philosophy has been to create responsible design. An idea that permeates the company's entire business concept – creating design that can be applied to Ikea's most common cabinet frames. The launch of Superfront's Wood Collection is therefore a natural step in their aim to motivate people to decorate their homes in a circular and sustainable manner.
– We always design with sustainability in mind, whether it's through creating design that encourages recycling of Ikea cabinets that already exist in millions of homes – or from an aesthetic point of view. This mindset has resulted in what many refer to as timeless design, but also in a conscious use of materials that last over time and age well, says Monica Born, one of Superfront’s two founders.
The latter is the reason why Superfront now launches the Wood Collection.
– Wood might be the least “trendy” of materials since it has been around us for millions of years, but this is also the reason why we feel so comfortable having it around us in our homes. It creates a warmth that few materials can compete with, Superfront's other founder Mick Born adds.
The Wood Collection consists of wood veneered doors and drawer fronts, sides, tops and plinths as well as the new Bar handle that stretches across the length or width of the fronts. There are two different designs for the fronts – Plain and Vertical – and the whole collection is available in six different colours that keep the grain of the wood visible.
– To make the new Wood Collection look the same tomorrow as it does today, we have chosen to work with ash wood which we treat to achieve the exact colour tones that we want. Ash wood has a wonderful looking grain and is relatively resistant to UV light by nature. The fact that we have treated the ash wood with a UV-resistant stain and topcoat means that it retains its character much longer than, for example, a walnut veneer that tends to fade a lot when exposed to light, Monica continues.
Superfront has thus stained the ash wood to achieve the six different colours, three of which are natural wood shades while the other three can be recognized from Superfront’s existing colour palette.
– Our dark colour Umber is related to walnut, wenge and smoked oak but has its very own character that makes this dark wood tone unique. Our wood tone Biscotti can be compared to oak but with a less reddish hue and fewer deviating light streaks which gives it – in our opinion – a more elegant character that is more compatible with other types of wood than oak is. And the lightest, Alabaster Wood, simply looks like untreated ash. The remaining three colours come from our existing colour palette and are therefore called Thunder Wood, Cloudy Wood and Willow Wood, Mick concludes.
The Wood Collection will initially be available for the Ikea cabinet frames Metod, Pax and Bestå – making it possible to create kitchens, bathroom furniture, dressers, wardrobes and sideboards.

Superfront launches the Supersink basin in a new timeless material – stainless steel.
The new sink has a durable, polished surface that is easy to match with other details in steel, aluminium or chrome. And while it adds an elegant feel to the modern bathroom, it also blends naturally into a classic, stylish environment.
– It's the beauty of timeless, sustainable design – it lasts longer and fits into most environments, says Mick Born, co-founder of Superfront.
For the reason of the launch of Supersink in steel, Superfront shows new inspiring photos of their timeless sinks in the classic Hallwyl House in Stockholm.
– Considering the age difference of more than a hundred years between the surroundings in Hallwylska and our design, it's fascinating to see that they go so well together, Monica Born concludes.

New Twine – a series of handles and legs from Superfront with a scent of 30s functionalism.
With its clean, stripped-down design, Superfront's new series Twine feels like it's taken straight out of the functionalist era. The series that consists of two handles and a furniture leg is released in several finishes: brass, copper, steel and black.
– I have always admired handles with this type of wire wrapping. It may be found in the entrance of fancy department stores, but also in indoor environments created to last for centuries. There is something crafted and exclusive about it that makes it never go out of style. In the same way, we want the Twine series to be able to age – with grace and with time, says Monica Born, one of Superfront’s founders.
Her other half Mick – and second founder of Superfront – fills in:
– Yes, the design of the Twine series is indeed timeless, and if you want to give your kitchen or furniture a slightly more modern look, you may choose the handles and legs in black. The steel details, on the other hand, immediately add a stricter, industrial touch, while the warm metals provide a more classic feel, Mick continues.
The latter are made of solid, untreated brass and copper, which gives the products an exclusive patina over time.
– With Long Twine, I have a hunch that we will step right into every fashionista's dream of a super elegant walk-in closet. And I definitely intend to have them in my new wardrobe, Monica concludes.
The Twine series will be available for sale at superfront.com starting September 30, 2020.

Reuse is now becoming a matter of course for many and this concept has been an ingrained element of Superfront’s design philosophy since its inception. Now Superfront is broadening its range to also include fronts for the 75 cm wide Pax frame.
“The Pax wardrobe can be found in millions of homes, so we recognized a need for fronts for the entire line of Pax frames. Our fronts help people restyle their homes with minimum material consumption,” enthuses one of Superfront’s founders, Mick Born.
In other words, the new fronts for the 75 cm wide Pax frame represent a logical progression in Superfront’s upcycling ethos.
– The fronts for this frame are sold in pairs and can be combined with the fronts for the 50 and 100 cm wide frames making it even easier to create the perfect wardrobe to suit your needs, continues Mick.
The new products mean that Superfront can take yet another step closer to its vision – offering more people the opportunity to surround themselves with outstanding sustainable design.
– We believe that exquisite form and interior design shouldn't have to be ridiculously expensive or harmful for the environment, adds Monica Born, the other half of the founding duo.
Superfront’s doors for the 75 cm wide Pax frame will be available in all patterns, with the exception of Harlequin and Big Fish, from March 5!

Stylish patterns in sober shades when Superfront releases the first news of the year.
With Fields and Geometric, Superfront has created two eclectic patterns that, in combination with the new colours Desert Sand and Willow Green, give your furniture an international, elegant expression.
– Fields is a pattern that we felt for immediately when we sketched it out. It has a playfulness with its different angles, while being surprisingly harmonious in for example a kitchen. Fields manage to be elegant and urban at the same time, creating that feeling of organized, creative chaos, says founder Monica Born.
Superfront was launched in 2013 and firmly established itself in the French market in the fall of 2019 with a Pop-Up in Paris, a favourite town for designer couple Mick and Monica Born.
– It’s impossible not to be influenced by all the great architecture and design that surrounds you in Paris. With our new pattern Geometric, we’ve emphasized the geometric elements of Art Deco, rather than the overly decorative ones. The result is a vibrant pattern that is everything but stiff. Geometric can advantageously be mixed with a vintage wooden kitchen island and timeless kitchen accessories in copper or tin to create that relaxed, personal kitchen that many want, but don't really know how to create, says Superfront’s other founder Mick Born.

A new range of products in Smoked Oak has been added to the Superfront range. With legs, handles and tops in this beautiful natural material - you can create a new type of furniture.
– By using a natural material like oak - with veins that have grown for decades - you can add warmth and timelessness to your furniture, says founder Monica Born.
Mick Born continues: Oak is a very Swedish material. It's durable and beautiful we think, especially in this dark, elegant colour Smoked Oak.
To accentuate the beautiful veins and create a natural lustre in the wood, all Smoked Oak products are matte lacquered. Something that gives them an even more durable surface.
– Adding elements of wood to your Superfront furniture can be a great idea if you already have a wooden shelf, chair or lamp base in your room. It "ties together" the furniture with other furnishings in the room and makes the room feel well thought out and harmonious, Monica adds. – The Smoked Oak works really well both in contrast to our lighter front colours and to the really dark ones. Along with lighter colours such as Ashton Grey or Aerugo Green, the expression on your furniture will be Scandinavian. When combining Smoked Oak with our darker colours like Thunder Grey and Infinity Blue - the furniture will get more of a low-key elegant, international character, Mick ends.

Three years ago Superfront launched their Deep Black collection with carbon black handles. From today, they're expanding this matte, elegant collection by adding Balls and Mini Balls.
– The Balls handles have been with us from start and are still standing strong, it only felt right to give them more space and add them in Deep Black, says Mick Born, one of Superfront's founders.
Superfront's Deep Black colour is explained as a matte black that gives the handles a sculptural, graphic character.
– The matte surface of these handles is tactile and elegant. In combination with the simple shape of a sphere, it's what I would call "ascetic luxury" adds co-founder Monica Born. – And with two different sizes of this handle, you can let the shape reappear in a room, which is something that appeals to me. For example, if you use the Balls handles for a sideboard, you can add some Mini Balls to use as hooks on another wall. This kind of repetition creates harmony in a room, Mick Born adds.
The Balls handle has a diameter of 40 mm, while it's smaller sibling Mini Balls has one of 28 mm. The handles are available for purchase at superfront.com starting today and cost from €16/£13/115 DKK. Click here for inspiration.

Welcome / Bienvenue!
More and more people are moving into the cities and this increases the need for smart, space-efficient storage suitable for smaller homes and unused, narrow spaces.
– We’ve seen a demand from our customers for more easily placed storage furniture, so now we have developed a design also for Ikea's 20 cm deep Bestå frame. It turned out that these slim sideboards are not only practical – they look very stylish too, says Mick Born, one of Superfront’s founders.
And instead of offering only 60 cm wide fronts for the Bestå frame – which is the front format that Ikea offers – Superfront has supplemented their range with 30 cm wide fronts which are sold in pairs to the 64 and 128 cm high cabinet frames.
– We want the customer to be able to reduce the turning radius when they open their sideboard. It contributes to the functionality of, for example, a narrow hallway. In addition, the narrower fronts provide an aesthetic balance in relation to the shallow frame, adds co-founder Monica Born.
The 20 cm deep Bestå sideboards can be created in the widths of 60 or 120 cm, and the heights: 38, 64 or 128 cm. As usual, you combine Superfront's patterns and colours freely on the fronts – and as always, you can choose to dress your Bestå cabinet with both sides and top in a lacquered finish, or choose a durable stone top in either Carrara marble or limestone. The latter option is great for anyone who might put the keys on their sideboard daily.
All in all, there are a number of uses for a shallower sideboard format; from the narrow hallway, to the living room or the kitchen where there is not always space enough for a 40 cm deep piece of furniture. The new technology also makes this format ideal as a TV furniture, with enough space for both your Apple TV and other practical, but not always that decorative, tech gadgets.

By combining the simplicity of a cylinder with the undulating shape of a sea in motion – the Swell handle has got an expression that is stripped-down, yet characteristic. Swell is available in aluminium, matte black, brass and copper, of which the latter two also come in two finishes: polished or raw.
– The stripped-down, yet characteristic expression of Swell is quite typical of our design. We often start with pure and simple basic forms – but then always add something that gives our design a unique feel, says Monica Born.
– Yes, with Swell we started out with the cylinder and then added the undulating form. We refined our prototypes for months before we found that perfect, organic shape that feels anything but mechanical. It may sound pretentious, but it is such detailing that is required for design to feel well-conceived and exclusive, Mick Born adds.
– When it comes to the raw brass and copper handles, we simply have not polished them to achieve the right feeling. This provides a genuine, raw, industrial finish that looks better than the artificial kind with a faux patina that you often see. The raw, untreated surface makes no handle completely like the other – which contributes to the sense of craftsmanship that we like, says Mick Born.
– Swell adds a lot of character to a kitchen or a piece of furniture, despite an absolute minimum of details. Without "trying too hard", its special shape provides that crowning touch to a clean-lined kitchen, Monica concludes.
Swell is available from today at www.superfront.com.

Superfront now releases the longer handles Long Circus and Long Mini Circus!
The new handles match Superfront's existing round Circus handles, but are longer and more grip-friendly. Therefore, new Long Circus and Long Mini Circus fit extra well on fridges and freezers, wardrobes – as well as on wider fronts that can be found on dressers and bathroom vanities.
"We’re excited to be able to offer our customers longer and more functional variants of our clean-cut, round favourites Circus and Mini Circus. Since the new, longer handles have a width that corresponds to the diameters of the round handles, they harmonize very well together," says Mick Born.
The handles come in brass, copper, aluminium and matte black. And as usual, Superfront works with genuine, solid materials that age beautifully.
"In a kitchen, Long Circus makes a great companion to Circus. Use Long Circus solely on the bigger, heavier fronts like fridge and freezer – or on all fronts for a more eye-catching and luxurious restaurant feel. It's also nice to mix all four variants of the Circus family," Mick continues.
"If you put them on a chest of drawers or a wardrobe, the expression will become some sort of updated Art Deco thanks to the rounded shape and the extravagant, mirror-like surface. I picture how these handles would hit it off with our Art Deco-inspired wardrobe front Marais, since the shape recurs in the curved lines of the pattern," Monica Born adds.
Long Circus and Long Mini Circus have the standard dimension 128 mm between the screw holes. They are available for purchase at superfront.com starting today and cost from €29.

Swedish furniture company Superfront who designs quality fronts, handles, legs and more for Ikea’s cabinet series - just launched their whole range of products to 16 more European countries.
From being able to buy only handles and legs, Superfront customers in these countries can now also order fronts, sides and tops. The customer can thereby create a unique piece of furniture around the Ikea cabinet base.
– Since the launch 5 years ago, design loving people all over Europe have asked us about when they can buy our full range of products in their specific country. Therefore, we are very happy to offer this possibility to many more people, says Monica Born, one of Superfront's founders.
With this, Superfront now sells their full range to 25 countries – while legs and handles are sold pretty much to the whole world. And the interest for the company’s design is growing quickly.
– Our vision is to get more people to enjoy beautiful design in their homes - and now we are many steps closer to this. More countries will follow as we see a great demand for our design outside of Europe as well, says Superfront’s other founder Mick Born.
The new European countries that can now buy the full Superfront product range are Austria, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Irland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Czech Republic.
Today, Superfront's huge selection of designs for Ikea’s cabinet frames is made on order - and the delivery time is therefore 4-6 weeks. As a complement, Superfront now launches a faster and easier option: the new ASAP Collection with 9 sideboard packages ready to be shipped. All packages are intended for Ikea's Bestå Cabinet frames.
For the ASAP Collection, Superfront have selected some of their sideboard favourites, and the purpose is to simplify the choice for the customers, but also to offer them a faster delivery than previously possible.
"We want to be there for our most spontaneous customers and for those who simply trust our taste and find it convenient that we’ve already composed a sideboard we like ourselves," says Mick Born, one of Superfront's founders.
Legs and handles are not included in the ASAP Collection, but are selected by the customer herself and sent together with the sideboard-package. The cabinet frame is bought as usual from Ikea or if you already have one at home, you can use that instead.
ASAP Collection is available from April 12th, and prices are the same as for our sideboard products manufactured on order. The entire ASAP Collection can be found at www.superfront.com.

Swedish Superfront completes its colour palette with the new colour Silent Greige. A shade that breathes low-key elegance and goes well together with different types of wood.
"It's a mature and timeless colour that you see more if you look outside Sweden's borders," says founder and designer Monica Born. And since our customers are largely international, Silent Greige complements our palette in a very natural way."
Mick Born – the other half of the duo – fills in: "When we experiment with new colours to our palette, we become totally wrapped up in finding that perfect shade. Silent Greige is not a colour that shouts for attention, but it's not a dime a dozen colour either - so the end result is discreetly luxurious.
Silent Greige is available online from 6/2 and can be seen in Superfronts showrooms in Stockholm and Oslo.

Delirium has been designed specifically for Superfront by illustrator and artist Klas Ernflo. The pattern is not constant in the way they have been previously, but is designed uniquely for each front. Delirium is available to order from Augusti 17, 2017.
– Our previous patterns have been repetitive, but this time we wanted to try something more freely and fuzzy says Mick Born, one of Superfront’s founders.
Superfront contacted the artist Klas Ernflo who lived up the exact feeling they wanted.
– Klas amazing illustrations tend to be surreal, almost like a picture out of our subconscious. Once we got to see his proposal on the patterns - we got very excited, says Monica Born Superfront’s second founder.
– It’s like you see movements and hear different sounds when viewing the pattern. It's almost like you get hallucinations. Hence the name Delirium, Mick continues.
Klas Ernflo is also pleased to work with Superfront:
– It has been very easy to collaborate with Superfront since the founders themselves come from the creative direction and like to be challenged. To realise I can almost create hallucinations in others is also a discovery which I rejoice greatly.
– The pattern is playful but on the same time very elegant in that it has the same colour as the rest of the front and can only be seen as a relief. I can picture Delirium in an eclectic Milan home from the 50s, but also in a sleek, exclusive home right now, Monica Born ends.
Delirium will be available in all Superfront colours and the price level is the same as for the other patterns. You can choose whether you want a piece of furniture that covers the entire pattern - or one that contains parts of it. Delirium comes in heights of 64 cm and 128 cm and in widths of 60, 120, 180 and 240 cm and is sold in ready-made combinations of 1, 2, 3 or 4 fronts.

We thought of those plump, heavy clouds that turn into rain on a hot summer day. Of the big, cool drops; as liberating as tears over the lost summer romance. Those that quench the heat and bring out natures scents again. We thought of how beautiful everything can be even though the skies are completely grey. Cloudy Grey is available from December 15 at superfront.com. We hope you like it.
The matte black finish of the Deep Black handles gives them a sculptural expression with clearly chiselled lines. The handles are released on Monday November 21 and will be available in seven different models.
– With its razor-sharp silhouettes, Deep Black is a collection of handles that provides a graphical character to its furniture. The surface of the handles is extremely matte and creates an understated exclusivity, says Mick Born.
– Our Existing handle models get a completely different expression with this new, deep black surface. Our Loop handle in black leather for example - gets a considerably harder appearance with the matte black rivet instead of the polished metal ones adds Monica Born.
The Reflection and Mini Reflection handles creates a visual effect when put on a piece of black furniture since the front of those handles are polished, while the back of them is black.
– The Deep Black Reflection and Mini Reflection handles create the illusion of a floating mirror. It adds something poetic and magical in a room Monica Born ends.
In February Superfront released a limited collection of hand made handles in collaboration with the Swedish Contemporary Swedish Silver Foundation. Now the Pharmacy, Pluto and Reflection handles are released in three new metals: aluminium, brass and copper. In addition, a completely new handle will be released which is a smaller version of the Reflection handle named Mini Reflection. All handles are solid and untreated giving them a fine patina with time.
– Mini Reflection creates an elegant expression on a piece of furniture that we like says Monica Born, one of the Superfront’s founders.
The price for the Pharmacy, Pluto and Reflection handles will be 21 Euro, and for the Mini Reflection 16 Euro.
– We received a very positive response when we launched the handles in silver and bakelite, but it is of course expensive to put hand-forged handles in a full kitchen. These new versions costs less but is still made of beautiful, solid materials that ages nicely adds Mick Born, another Superfront's founders.
The handles are on display at superfront.com as of September 26, 2016.
