Questions & answers about Bruta Kitchen

Of course you can – as long as we are talking about two separate modules. However, we do not recommend combining Bruta with other designs on the same module, as there are differences in both thickness and depth.

Because part of the production involves advanced craftsmanship, it is done externally by smaller woodshops that have the craft skills and special tools required. Therefore, the wait is a little longer – but the artisanal quality is worth it!

The doors for the tall cabinets need to be a little thicker so that the integrated handles can offer a solid and comfortable grip. Also, the chunky dimensions are more in line with the Brutalist aesthetic. That's why thicker MDF has been used for the entire Bruta collection – with the exception of the cover panels for the wall cabinets, which are 8 mm.

The handles on the base cabinets are a big part of the design, and to achieve that dynamic feel it's important to create an irregular but balanced arrangement rather than a symmetrical one. But that may be easier said than done! That's why we recommend consulting our kitchen designers for a sketch proposal before ordering.

With doors and handles fitted, the depth of a Bruta Base cabinet is 63,8 cm, which is deeper than standard. This means you can't use Ikea's standard worktops, for example, since these are only 63.5 cm deep. To protect the doors, the worktop also needs an overhang. So before you order your worktop, make sure you add as much as you need to the measurement to get the overhang you want, both in the front and on the sides. And don't forget to include the thickness of the end panels (19 mm) when calculating the width of the worktop!

For the Bruta kitchen we offer dishwasher doors that are 60x80 cm. This means that your dishwasher should be 60 cm wide and fit the dimensions of the Ikea Metod kitchen. It is not possible to have a 45 cm dishwasher in a Bruta kitchen.
