Care instructions for wardrobes

When cleaning is required we recommend a soft, damp cloth and water. If a detergent is needed it should be a mild one like soap or washing-up liquid. Always avoid using detergents that contain alcohol and ammonia or ones that have an abrasive or bleaching effect. When using soap or washing-up liquid, wipe clean with water and wipe dry immediately. This is to avoid water remaining on the surface. Be sure to wipe off any spills from the surface of your cabinet. This includes carefully wiping the edges of the front’s underside.

Like all natural materials, our wood products may change its appearance slightly as time goes by. However – the lacquer we use for our wood veneered products contains absorbents that effectively slow down the fading process. With proper care, the wood will age beautifully and only add character and warmth to your furniture!

Follow the instructions below to make sure your wood product lasts over time:

• Clean your wood product with a slightly damp cloth. If necessary, a mild detergent like a soap solution can be used. Note: Do NOT use detergent with abrasive material! Wipe dry with a dry cloth.

• If a liquid or anything wet is spilt on your wood product, make sure to wipe it up immediately. For example, do not place soggy pots directly on the wood surface, or hang damp towels against a front, as this may affect the surface.

• Avoid placing hot items on top of or very close to your wood products. If hot items are placed directly on a wooden surface, the wood can become discoloured.

• We recommend that you let all wood surfaces be exposed to the same amount of light. For example, if an object is lying on your wood top in the sunlight for some time, it may cause the wood underneath to differ in colour from other surfaces.

Stone handles
Our marble handles must only be cleaned using lukewarm water and a mild detergent like soap and then wiped dry.

Metal handles
Our metal handles in chrome and aluminium must only be cleaned using lukewarm water and a mild detergent like soap and then wiped dry. Brass and copper handles can be cleaned in the same way if you want to keep the patina finish that forms after a time on these untreated handles. But would you rather polish your brass and copper handles then we recommend a Swedish polish by the name of Häxans Metall-puts. Wipe off with lukewarm water afterwards to fully remove any residue polish. Be careful not to splash any of the relatively strong polish on your cabinet front. Should this happen, clean it off immediately using soapy water.

In case you choose to polish your Twine or Long Twine handles, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that polish easily remains in the small gaps of the wire that is wrapped around these handles. Therefore, we recommend that you, immediately after you have polished them, clean these gaps using a toothbrush. If you choose to polish these handles, you are responsible for any polish that remains.

Wooden handles
Our wooden handles must only be cleaned using lukewarm water and a mild detergent like soap and then wiped dry.

Leather handles
Our leather handles are made of untreated Tärnsjö leather. It ages beautifully and quickly forms a fine patina. To stop this process you can pre-condition the leather using wax. We recommend an impregnating agent of the sort used for the finest leather shoes, like Leather Masters’ products, for example. The leather then becomes less sensitive to moisture and stains and the lightly toned leather becomes slightly darker.
